Edison Fireside Phonograph

The "Cygnet" horn was an Edison innovation that got the horn up, over the top of the machine. The rule in acoustic phonographs is "bigger horn, bigger sound," so this is a great advantage for those who really want to listen to and enjoy their records. The original Edison Cygnet (swan's neck) horn has been professionally repainted and given precise gilt decoration -- yet we preserved the original factory decals.

Original cabinet finish and original factory-applied black enamel with fancy decorations. Many enthusiasts consider the Fireside to be the prettiest instrument in the Edison line. The Fireside Model A is capable of playing BOTH the early-style 2-minute and the later-style 4-minute cylinder records. We have hundreds of cylinder records for sale to the purchaser of this machine if needed.

Original decal on the cabinet.

The condition of the original decorations on the mechanical works is excellent.

Beautifully preserved, spotlessly clean, completely tuned and adjusted. Not a speck of dirt or grease. Our spic-and-span Edison is a far cry from the filthy, buggered-up trash you see available in online auctions. The neat, compact oak cabinet can be closed to keep out dust. In short -- buy from phonophan, we have 40 years of experience, we actually know what we're talking about, we don't just talk the talk -- we sweat all the details. Phonophan gives you the flat-out best service on the planet!
