More information about the Victor

This improved version of the II had a larger oak cabinet-- but its primary attraction is the iridescent blue horn, as deep as the waters of the Caribbean, with hand-painted cabbage roses. This is an old, original horn, and we have perfectly matched our artistry to the style of the period.

It took us years to perfect the exact combination of elements that originally produced these sparkling, shimmering horns. They captivated the eyes and imaginations of our great-great-grandparents as much as they entice us today!

The original gilt decorations. And the soundbox has been carefully rebuilt and adjusted to produce loud, clear, bright and beautiful music!

On the front of the strikingly quarter-sawn oak cabinet is this nifty "His Master's Voice" name plate.

We took the motor COMPLETELY apart, cleaned each part, reassembled, adjusted and lubricated. The motor runs smoothly, quietly and plays through any 78 rpm record. When we "detail" an instrument, we painstakingly coax it back to factory condition. This Victor II looks and plays great!
